Rest Stop Idafornia

We traveled across the state today, it was a beautiful morning. The kids were great all except for the mystery smells that seemed to eminate from the back seat. To keep ourselves entertained we wrote a song to the tune of "Hotel California" all about the experiences you may have at a rural rest stop... turned out super special, but I dont think I am going to post it just yet... there may be some tweaking still involved.

I am anticipating the race this weekend with mixed feelings. I wont break any records but I think I am really going to enjoy the run... I havent ran a race since Zietgiest and I have gotten a little squishy since then.

I have really been impressed on how many of you commented on my last post since I was out of the loop for so long! Thanks!

Buried under boxes

I am taking a break!! Too many boxes and not enough time.... except to do a little bloggy blogging and stuff... just have to brag that I am going to run a race this weekend, should be fun. Also I am stepping into the future and have updated my facebook. Sheesh, dont expect too much for a while, still have to pack. Salud!!

Not dead yet

"Me NOT DEAD"

So I thought I would post, just to let you know that Im NOT dead. Life has taken some fun turns the last couple of months, and blogging has become a bottom feeder. So to all my loyal fans, out there, I am still running, 3 times a week, and praying for spring, I am still coupon shopping, and getting some great deals, I am still here! So HELLO EVERYONE! dont loose faith, smile a little more, laugh, and its ok to eat chocolate sometimes! Have a great day!

Keeping Tracks

Yesterday's run was an adventure in tracking! Thursday night it had snowed about 1/4 inch so it was the perfect canvas for the night activities around by the lake. As Deana and I ran and conversed we were suddenly stopped by some interesting tracks in the snow! They were rabbit tracks, and then there were (skunk?) tracks, and finally as we rounded the corner closest to the lake we noticed the tracks that are in the picture above (Deana took that picture with her camera phone) There were two pair, looked like a couple out for a nice night stroll. We saw them criss cross over the road several times, it was so fun to see them! We think they are raccoon tracks..... We were also able to see the tracks that Weston and Alan were making as they ran ahead of us! What fun! This is one of those mornings that I am glad that I get up at 4:30am! Salud!

Coupon Hangover

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! (stupid alarm) what day is it? I seem to be waking up this way more often lately...... Ok its Wednesday, running this morning at 5. Get up... Get up! Ok, Im up, get ready, stretch.... here comes the MOB! Hi everyone! A slight mist is in the air, the buzz of everyone's coversation is so much fun! Can I just say how much fun our running group is??? YOU GUYS ROCK! anyway, beautiful morning, nice run. Now I'm ready for the day!

Now about last night's class...... It was so much fun! There were about 60 people there and they were all ready and willing to learn! I talked and talked and talked (ok, I like to talk) and they soaked it up like little coupon sponges. I am so thankful for the knowledge that I have and that I can share it! Neat! I got MEAT!

Stats: Beautiful morning for a run!! Deana and I ran until I got a call from my DD saying she needed to ride to school, (her ride mom was sick today) So I SPRINTED about a mile..... got in my car..... drove like a bat outta you know where..... only to find that DH had taken DD to school for me! (sheesh), but as I was saying... great morning for a run! The only part that was yicky was the muddy path in some spots.... EEWWW!

Now since I have heard rumors of a following on my latest crazy trips to the Albys store, I thought I would post my shopping experience this morning... so here goes:

What I got:

1 gallon Milk

16 rice a roni (to do the $5 off meat promo ... twice)

4 pot roasts

6 whole Chickens (price reduced for quick sale)

1 jolly time popcorn

1 box candy canes (marked 75% off)

4 boxes Bisquick

2 loaves french bread (they were free because I called survey that printed on my reciept from a previous purchase)

I used my $15.00 coupons from last week, Doubled 9 coupons, and Did the Promo -buy 8 rice a roni and get $5 free meat (twice)! Now my freezer is so full that I am getting creative in finding those small pockets of space! I decided to boil and de-bone all the chicken to save space, I got 5 zip lock bags full of pre-cooked chicken in my freezer now, just waiting to come to dinner! I hope you are all having as much fun as I am with the sales this week, its kinda sad to see them come to and end.... but who knows what the next week will hold........(wink)

On Brain Fuzz, and IRONMAN

After yesterdays excitement shopping, I could hardly sleep last night (trying to prep for the class on tuesday .... in my head) and so It was tough to get out of bed! The alarm went off and I was thinking frantically..... what day is it? Why is my alarm going off? What am I suppose to be doing? Who am I?? (giggle) But when I finally got my brain-thingys back in line I got up and headed out the door to the lake for some sweat time. It was BEAUTIFUL this morning. The slush and snow was gone off the roads so there was no fighting the falling on your butt syndrome! The moon was full and reflecting off of the lake.It was so light that there was no need for flashlights! It was the best run I have been on since last week! Wow I can't wait until the weather starts cooperating more again.... and I can ride my BIKE! Deana and I talked coupons for 5 miles...she is doing AWESOME! What fun it has been teaching my friends and family how to save money on the things that they need every day!

It was nice to see Weston out this morning.... he's a real commited kinda guy! Too bad his other buddies weren't there to give him some competition! He stuck with Deana and I for the first mile and then was off like a flash! (a little red flashy flash) He had some sort of light on his chest that made him look like the dude for "Ironman" movie...and when he took off, Deana and I had to question whether or not he REALLY was IRONMAN? hmmm..... Where is Weston when Ironman is around? Do you EVER see them both in the same place? (LOL)
